On Thursday, 4 May 2017, in the evening at 19:26, in Marijampolės municipality, on the Marijampolė–Liudvinavas–Krosna national road (kilometre 9.68), a collision with a moped occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4 Avant and a moped. Two people died — a 18-year-old passenger of a moped and the 19-year-old driver of a moped (had no driving licence). Two people were injured — the 21-year-old driver of the Audi (hospitalized) and a 21-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized). Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
