On Sunday, 14 May 2017, in the evening at 20:30, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 304.60), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Citroen Jumper and a Volvo S60. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Citroen (11 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (2.09‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
