On Wednesday, 17 May 2017, in the evening at around 19:00, in Šiauliai, on Statybininkų street, at the junction with Garažų street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Ssang Yong Rexton and a Volkswagen Passat. One person was injured — a 66-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Ssang Yong (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober.
