On Saturday, 27 May 2017, in the evening at around 18:00, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Ariogala–Raseiniai–Kryžkalnis national road (kilometre 8.63), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a BMW 320D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
