On Sunday, 28 May 2017, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kaunas, on Kuršių street near No. 34, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat Variant and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 77-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Passat Variant (26 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
