On Friday, 2 June 2017, in the evening at 18:40, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 304.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4, a Skoda Yeti, a Mercedes-Benz A 170 CDI and a Volkswagen Sharan. Two people were injured — a 5-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (treated as an outpatient) and a 42-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Audi (8 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
