On Saturday, 3 June 2017, in the afternoon at 11:14, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 79), a Volkswagen Jetta hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
