On Friday, 23 June 2017, in the afternoon at 15:05, in Panevėžys, on Ukmergės street near No. 26, a Suzuki XL-7 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. Two people were injured — a 55-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized) and a 62-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 71-year-old driver of the Suzuki (30 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
