On Monday, 26 June 2017, in the afternoon at 15:10, in Kėdainių district municipality, on J. Basanavičiaus street near No. 91, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a VAZ 21061 and a Ford Mondeo. Two people were injured — a 68-year-old passenger of the VAZ (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 41-year-old passenger of the Ford (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 69-year-old driver of the VAZ (45 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. The 21-year-old driver of the Ford had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
