On Friday, 30 June 2017, in the evening at 19:47, in Vilnius, on I. Kanto al. near No. 9A, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.32‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
