On Saturday, 1 July 2017, in the evening at 17:20, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 304.40), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Saab 9-3 and a Toyota Avensis. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Saab (18 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
