On Tuesday, 11 July 2017, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Klaipėda, on Taikos pr., at the junction with Baltijos pr., a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz E 220 CDI and a Peugeot 207. One person was injured — the 34-year-old driver of the Peugeot (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 67-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (30 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
