On Friday, 21 July 2017, at night at 2:14, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 62.80), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW Serie 5 and an Opel. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the BMW (3 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.99‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
