On Tuesday, 25 July 2017, in the morning at 8:59, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 51), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Land Cruiser, a Volkswagen Passat, a Renault and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Toyota (29 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
