On Saturday, 5 August 2017, in the afternoon at 14:31, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžio aplinkkelis main road, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (10 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
