On Thursday, 10 August 2017, in the evening at 20:12, in Vilnius, on Žaliųjų Ežerų street near No. 93, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and a BMW 330. Four people were injured — the 35-year-old driver of the Audi (hospitalized), a 11-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized), a 11-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient) and a 12-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Audi, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.93‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
