On Monday, 14 August 2017, in the afternoon at 15:59, in Zarasų district municipality, Degučių village, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 165.95), a Nissan Patrol hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Nissan. He was drunk (2.08‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
