On Tuesday, 15 August 2017, in the evening at 19:35, in Raseinių district municipality, Paeglynio village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 195.40), a Volkswagen Passat ran off the road. Two people were injured — the 22-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (hospitalized) and a 22-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
