On Wednesday, 16 August 2017, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Šilėnai–Sidariai–Šiaulėnai regional road (kilometre 0.89), at a railway crossing, a collision with barriers occurred. The collision involved a Scania R 124L and a KEL- Berg. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 53-year-old driver of the Scania (13 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
