On Saturday, 9 September 2017, in the morning at 9:05, in Šakių district municipality, Šilgalių village, on the Šakiai–Prūseliai regional road (kilometre 2.97), an Opel Zafira rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.59‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 17-year-old passenger of the Opel was drunk (1.51‰). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
