On Tuesday, 12 September 2017, in the evening at 21:31, in Vilniaus city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 14), a Subaru Legacy ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Subaru (25 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
