Drunk Mercedes-Benz truck driver runs off the road on the Panevėžio aplinkkelis road
On Friday, 15 September 2017, in the morning at 7:47, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžio aplinkkelis main road, a Mercedes-Benz 1840 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.23‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
