On Tuesday, 19 September 2017, in the afternoon at 16:15, in Vilnius, on Nemenčinės pl., at the junction with Saulėtekio al., a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The collision involved an Opel Omega-B-Caravan registered in Poland, a Toyota Avensis and an Isuzu D-MAX. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Opel, who violated overtaking rules. He was drunk (2.45‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
