On Wednesday, 27 September 2017, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Skuodo district municipality, Šauklių village, on the Skuodas–Plungė national road (kilometre 19), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra and a Fiat Ducato. Three people were injured — the 42-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient), a 69-year-old passenger of the Opel (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 78-year-old passenger of the Opel (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 42-year-old driver of the Opel (19 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
