On Saturday, 30 September 2017, in the afternoon at 16:14, in Marijampolės municipality, Igliaukos village, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 117.72), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Renault Clio and a DAF TE95XF registered in Poland. Three people died — the 22-year-old driver of the Renault, a 78-year-old passenger of the Renault (later died from the injuries) and a 80-year-old passenger of the Renault. Two people were injured — a 28-year-old passenger of the Renault (hospitalized) and a 47-year-old passenger of the Renault (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Renault (1 year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
