On Wednesday, 11 October 2017, in the evening at 18:43, in Kaunas, on Vokiečių street near No. 141, at the junction with Kranto 17-oji street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4 and a Volvo S40. One person was injured — the 23-year-old driver of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Audi, who violated overtaking rules. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
