On Friday, 13 October 2017, in the evening at 18:22, in Šiauliai, on Aušros al., at the junction with Žemaitės street, a Renault Megane hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 75-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Renault (15 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. The driver was sober.
