On Friday, 27 October 2017, at night at 23:13, in Klaipėda, on Statybininkų pr., at the junction with Gedminų street, a Land Rover Freelander ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Land Rover (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.14‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
