On Monday, 30 October 2017, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Šilalės district municipality, Kvėdarnos town, on K. Jauniaus street, at the junction with Saulėtekio street, a Peugeot 406 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 58-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Peugeot (1 year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. The driver was sober.
