On Monday, 6 November 2017, in the evening at around 20:00, in Joniškio district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 30.38), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a BMW X5 3.0D registered in Latvia, an Audi A4 and a Renault Megane. One person was injured — the 58-year-old driver of the Renault (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the BMW (6 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. All drivers were sober.
