On Friday, 10 November 2017, in the morning at 8:06, in Mažeikių district municipality, on Laisvės street, at the junction with Laižuvos street, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mercury Cougar and a Renault Megane Scenic. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Mercury, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
