On Monday, 13 November 2017, in the evening at 21:45, in Kaunas, on Veiverių street near No. 26, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Rover 45 and an Opel Meriva. Three people were injured — the 19-year-old driver of the Rover (treated as an outpatient), a 22-year-old passenger of the Rover (treated as an outpatient) and the 49-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Rover (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
