On Saturday, 25 November 2017, at night at 23:55, in Jurbarko district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 82.70), a Ford Mondeo ran off the road. The collision involved the Ford, a Toyota and a Skoda Yeti. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Ford, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.43‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. A 17-year-old passenger of the Ford was drunk. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
