On Thursday, 30 November 2017, in the evening at 17:41, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Alytus–Seirijai–Lazdijai national road (kilometre 6), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Opel Signum and a Daihatsu YRV. Two people were injured — a 83-year-old passenger of the Daihatsu (hospitalized) and the 83-year-old driver of the Daihatsu (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Opel (11 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober.
