On Monday, 25 December 2017, in the evening at around 17:00, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on the Pirčiupiai–Eišiškės national road (kilometre 22), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Rover 416 and an Audi. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Rover, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk, had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was wet.
