On Monday, 25 December 2017, in the evening at 18:50, in Kaunas, on Kovo 11-osios street, at the junction with Dujotiekio street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Honda Civic 5DR. Two people were injured — the 23-year-old driver of the Honda (treated as an outpatient) and a 23-year-old passenger of the Honda (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (13 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
