On Thursday, 4 January 2018, in the evening at around 22:00, in Klaipėda, on Taikos pr. near No. 38, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW X5 3.0D and a Peugeot 607. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. The 45-year-old driver of the Peugeot had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
