On Friday, 5 January 2018, in the afternoon at 14:21, in Mažeikių district municipality, on Tirkšlių street near No. 11, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Citroen Xsara and a BMW 330 D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Citroen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
