On Saturday, 13 January 2018, in the afternoon at 13:39, in Vilnius, on Vikingų street near No. 3, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a Ford Fiesta hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Ford (10 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
