On Tuesday, 16 January 2018, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Panevėžys, on Klaipėdos street, at the junction with Projektuotojų street, a Volkswagen Passat hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 10-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (3 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
