On Thursday, 8 February 2018, in the afternoon at 13:14, in Kauno district municipality, on Ateities pl., at the junction with Kelias Nr. A1 kairė pusė street, a Jaguar X-Type hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Jaguar (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.48‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
