On Sunday, 18 February 2018, in the evening at 19:15, in Kaunas, on Veiverių street near No. 50, at the junction with H. ir O. Minkovskių street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and a Volkswagen Passat. Two people were injured — a 64-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and a 20-year-old passenger of the Opel (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Opel (4 years of driving experience), who failed to obey traffic-control signals. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
