On Monday, 19 March 2018, in the morning at around 9:00, in Kaunas, on Islandijos pl. near No. 61B, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz A 160 CDI, a Volkswagen Golf Plus and a Toyota Corolla Verso. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (2.36‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
