On Tuesday, 3 April 2018, in the morning at 10:25, in Šilalės district municipality, Tūbučių village, on the Šilalė–Šilutė national road (kilometre 12.60), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Subaru Legacy, a Mercedes-Benz Daimler Benz registered in Germany and a car. Three people were injured — the 47-year-old driver of the Subaru (severely injured, hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt), the 38-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (hospitalized) and the 22-year-old driver of a car (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Subaru (20 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. All drivers were sober.
