On Wednesday, 4 April 2018, at night at around 23:00, in Skuodo district municipality, Margininkų village, on the Mažeikiai–Skuodas national road (kilometre 25.60), an Opel Vectra hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 50-year-old pedestrian. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Opel (12 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
