On Sunday, 15 April 2018, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Panevėžys, on Smėlynės street near No. 57, a collision occurred. The collision involved a BMW 316 and a Seat Altea. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.04‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
