On Sunday, 22 April 2018, at night at 4:15, in Vilnius, on T. Narbuto street, at the junction with Laisvės pr., a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf, a BMW 530 D and a Toyota Prius. One person died — a 26-year-old passenger of the Toyota (later died from the injuries). Two people were injured — a 28-year-old passenger of the Toyota (severely injured, treated as an outpatient) and the 50-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (18 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.51‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
