Drunk driver's Honda rolls over on the Švenčionys–Mielagėnai–Andriejauka road

On Saturday, 21 April 2018, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Švenčionių district municipality, on the Švenčionys–Mielagėnai–Andriejauka regional road (kilometre 11.75), a Honda Civic rolled over. Two people died — the 23-year-old driver of the Honda (was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 25-year-old passenger of the Honda (was not wearing a seatbelt). One person was injured — a 22-year-old passenger of the Honda (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Honda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.89‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 25-year-old passenger of the Honda was drunk (3.31‰). A 25-year-old passenger of the Honda was drunk (1.11‰). A 22-year-old passenger of the Honda was drunk (0.84‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
