Drunk Audi driver in crash with Toyota on the Kariūnai–Duokiškis–Vilučiai–Kušliai road
On Saturday, 5 May 2018, in the evening at 20:11, in Rokiškio district municipality, on the Kariūnai–Duokiškis–Vilučiai–Kušliai regional road (kilometre 6.40), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and a Toyota Hilux. One person was injured — a 23-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.77‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
