On Tuesday, 8 May 2018, in the evening at 18:40, in Kaunas, on Žaibo street, at the junction with Debesų street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and an Opel Vectra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Audi (35 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He was drunk (1.48‰ blood alcohol). The 15-year-old driver of the Opel had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
